On their wedding day, a couple must battle the people they love for their marriage to survive -- literally.

IT'S THEM VS THEM.

The Newlyweds: Blood at The Atlar is a short film that serves as a proof-of-concept for a fresh, romantic, action-packed, blood-curdling film trilogy where we watch the origin story of a young, newlywed couple morphing themselves into top-grade zombie hunters.

The story takes place amongst the muggy yet enchanting landscapes of South Florida. It follows a young couple, Akil and Tia, whose relationship has gone through the ebb and flow of adulthood, and now they are ready to tie the knot. However, their friends and family don't think they suit each other because of the chaos between them. The unforgettable night of their wedding forces them to resolve dormant issues and learn the true meaning of unity because, without their love for one another, they will not survive.

The film's theme revolves around sacrifice, loyalty, and the transformative power of love. It explores the idea that love is tested not only during the best times but also in the face of unimaginable challenges. The characters are forced to confront the horrifying reality of a world filled with zombies and must make life-or-death decisions to protect their new marriage.

The tone is a unique blend of horror, romance, and action. While the premise is undeniably grim, the film finds moments of passion and tenderness amidst the chaos. The tension between the dreadful situation and the characters' attempts to cope and adapt adds a layer of irony to the story.
